RESEARCH INTERNSHIP - Silanna Semiconductor, Summer 2024
Research Project: Behavioral Modeling of Time-to-Digital Converter (TDC)
Created a behavioral model of a TDC using the Verilog-A hardware description language. The model was used to prove and refine an architecture for a very high-resolution converter (currently under patent review). Prior to my work, the system could only be modeled using transistor-level implementation, which is complex and difficult to simulate. My work sped up the development of the architecture by several orders of magnitude.
UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH - University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) ArchLab, 1/2024 - Present
Project: Neural Cache Simulator, a trace-based microarchitectural simulator based on a Generative Adversarial
Network (GAN) that can perform fast and accurate cache simulation.
Cache simulation provides a necessary foundation for research around computer architecture. I wrote scripts to generate cache data from simulation that was later used to train a Neural Network Model which acted as the final cache simulator.
RESEARCH INTERNSHIP - Silanna Semiconductor, Summer 2023
Research Project: Mathematical Modeling of Novel Laser Driver Circuit
Created a closed-form mathematical model for unique laser driver circuit consisting of two resonant loops.
Developed 2nd-order differential equations and related boundary conditions to fully describe the behavior of
the circuit. Prior to completing my work, the solution could only be found through circuit simulation.
INTERNSHIP, UCSD Supercomputer Center - Research Experience for High School Students (REHS), Summer 2021
Project: Visualization of Ultradian Rhythms in Sleep EEG and MEG.
Created and analyized 3D visual representation of EEG & MEG sleep data using MATLAB.
INTERNSHIP, UCSD SALLY RIDE SCIENCE SUMMER PROGRAM (Computer Science), Summer 2020
Created 40 instructional videos for students on programming concepts in Swift iOS.
INDEPENDENT RESEARCH - A Novel Multi-Layered Method for Image Steganography, 12/2020 – 3/2021
Image steganography is the hiding of data in ordinary image files to avoid detection. Standard methods use a stego-key. I developed a novel way to (1) hide & retrieve a message in an image without a stego-key and (2) make the hiding of the message more robust through a multi-layered approach.
INDEPENDENT PROJECT - Mobile App Development for Android OS (iThx), 10/2019 – 3/2020
Created (designed, coded, tested) and published an Android Game-Based Gratitude-Journal Mobile App: iThx, using MIT App Inventor, for helping teens improve mental health.
UCSD COSMOS Summer 2020, Accepted to Science & Math Program (Technology & Music)
Accepted into program but it was cancelled due to Covid, so I created my own Technology & Music project. I designed, coded, tested & published a Mobile Android App: FERMATA, a music practice app to motivate kids to practice, maintain practice logs, and get statistics.
FULL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP, UCSD Extension Futures 1-Year Program (Computer Programming), 2019 – 2020
3 college-credit courses to create, test & debug iOS mobile apps with Swift & Xcode for Apple technology
COMPUTER & PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES
• Python • JavaScript • C++ • MATLAB • MIT App Inventor for Android App Development
